Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to heap praise on Arsenal for their battling 3-1 win over Sunderland on Saturday.

Arsenal took the lead in the 33rd minute thanks to Joel Campbell’s opener in north London.

However, the visitors drew level on the stroke of half-time when Olivier Giroud scored an own-goal to hand Sunderland a lifeline.

But despite appearing to be nervous for long spells of the game, Arsenal went ahead again in the 63rd minute when Giroud made amends by heading in Aaron Ramsey’s pass.

And Ramsey made the three points secure when he bundled home from close range following Calum Chamber’s deflected shot in stoppage time.
