Mesut Ozil sends a birthday message to Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez
Mesut Ozil gets full marks for remembering to send a message to birthday boy Alexis Sanchez ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Manchester City at The Emirates on Monday night.
The Chile international is unlikely to feature in the top-of-the-table clash in north London after he injured his hamstring during a 1-1 draw with Norwich City at Carrow Road last month.
Although Sanchez is not expected to play any part in the game against third-placed City, the £35m signing is on the road to recovery after the forward returned to England from Chile earlier in December.
And Arsenal midfielder Ozil wished Sanchez a very happy 27th birthday as the club’s record signing geared up for the visit of Manuel Pellegrini’s side tomorrow night.
Ozil wrote on his Instagram page: “Happy birthday, Alexis! ☺🎉🎈#AFC #Sanchez #YaGunnersYa”
The World Cup winner has scored two goals and has made 13 assists in 15 Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side this season.
