Toby Alderweireld has urged Tottenham Hotspur to focus on Sunday’s visit of Newcastle United after securing top spot in Europa League Group G on Thursday night.
Tottenham club-record signing Erik Lamela scored a first-half hat-trick at White Hart Lane before Tom Carroll sealed three points for the home side.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side could face Turkish side Fenerbahce, Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, La Liga outfit Villarreal, Serie A club Fiorentina and more in the last 32.
Tottenham centre-half Alderweireld took to his Instagram page to post the above message ahead of the visit of Newcastle United at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
Alderweireld wrote on the photo-sharing app: “4-1. Job done. 1st in the group💪 Now focus on next Sunday for another battle. #Coys”
The Europa League last-32 draw will be made on Monday 14 December at 12:00 GMT.
Twenty-six-year-old Alderweireld moved to Tottenham from La Liga side Atletico Madrid in a £12.5m deal in the summer.
The Belgium international finished as a Champions League runner-up in 2014.
