Photos: Chelsea legends send messages to Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech
Both Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba have offered their congratulations to the Arsenal shot-stopper
Both Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba have taken to social media to pay tribute to Petr Cech after the Arsenal goalkeeper set a new Premier League record on Monday.
Cech, who joined the north London side from Chelsea during the summer transfer window, kept his 170th top-flight clean sheet in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth at Emirates Stadium.
Most of those shut-outs came while playing alongside the likes of Drogba and Lampard for Chelsea, before the shot-stopper’s eventual switch across London to Emirates Stadium in the summer.
And both Lampard and Drogba were full of praise on Instagram as they sent messages of congratulations to Cech following the feat.
Drogba posted the picture above on his Instagram account and wrote: “History maker @petrcech with this @premierleague historical record with 170 clean sheets,
What an achievement mon Ami!!!! #petrcech #170notin #numberone #legend #goldengloves”
