Chelsea striker Diego Costa hits the training ground after he was left on the bench at Tottenham Hotspur
Diego Costa put his latest controversy behind him as the Chelsea striker trained at Cobham on Tuesday.
The Spain international was caught on camera throwing his bib in Jose Mourinho’s direction after the Chelsea manager left the controversial striker on the bench for Sunday’s stalemate at Tottenham Hotspur.
Costa has endured a miserable start to the season and the 27-year-old has scored three times in 11 Premier League games this term.
However, the Chelsea striker sought to impress Mourinho as he battled for the ball with France international Loic Remy during training on Tuesday.
Costa netted 21 times in 26 Premier League games after he joined Chelsea in a £32m deal from La Liga side Atletico Madrid in 2014.
The striker’s compatriot Cesar Azpilicueta appeared in good spirits as he sported Chelsea’s new Adidas training kit at Cobham.
The Blues, who are 14th in the table, face Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
