Rio Ferdinand runs rule over Man United reject’s stunning form
Rio Ferdinand says he isn't surprised that Javier Hernandez has been scoring goals for fun since Man United exit
Rio Ferdinand says he isn’t surprised by Javier Hernandez’s impressive form for Bayer Leverkusen.
The Mexico international moved to the Bundesliga side in £7.3m deal from Manchester United in the summer transfer window after Hernandez was deemed surplus to requirement by manager Louis van Gaal.
Hernandez scored a hat-trick in Leverkusen’s 5-0 victory over Borussia Mochengladbach on Saturday evening to take his tally to 10 goals in 13 German top-flight appearances so far this season.
The 27-year-old striker revealed that he decided to seek a move away from Old Trafford in the summer after Van Gaal informed Hernandez that he had a one per cent chance of playing this term.
Former United defender Ferdinand, who won two Premier League titles with the ex-Real Madrid striker during the forward’s five-year spell at the club, took to Twitter to have his say on Hernandez’s form for the Bundesliga outfit.
Hate to say it… I told you all @CH14_ would score if given run of games.!!! Good to see you enjoying Ya football bro

Hernandez scored 59 goals in 157 games in all competitions for United.
The Mexican spent last season on loan at La Liga giants Real Madrid after falling out-of-favour under Van Gaal.
