Roger Federer reveals he will be teaming up with Martina Hingis for Switzerland in the mixed doubles in Rio

Roger Federer has revealed that he will be teaming up with Martina Hingis for Switzerland in the mixed doubles at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Federer, 34, confirmed on Twitter on Friday evening that he is “really excited” about the pairing and shared a photo of the pair in action together from earlier in their careers.

Federer has two Olympic medals to his name, after winning silver in the singles at London 2012 and gold in the doubles with Stan Wawrinka at Beijing 2008.

Hingis has retired from singles but still plays doubles and won the women’s and mixed titles at the US Open back in September.
