Sol Campbell makes prediction about Chelsea transfers
Sol Campbell does not expect Guus Hiddink to ring the changes at Chelsea in the January transfer window
Sol Campbell does not believe that Chelsea will look to bring in any new players during the January transfer window.
Much has been made of the Blues’ disastrous start to the new season, which resulted in Jose Mourinho’s sacking earlier this month.
Guus Hiddink has been placed in temporary charge of the west London club following Mourinho’s dismissal, and will oversee his first game when the Blues host Watford at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.
With so many of Chelsea’s star players underperforming this season, the west London side have inevitably been linked with a host of January transfers as the mid-season window draws ever nearer.
However, former Arsenal defender Campbell does not believe that the Blues need to bring in any players in January, and has urged Hiddink to work on getting the best out of his current squad.
Campbell told Sportlobster: “I don’t think Hiddink will spend in January.
“What he needs to do is settle this squad down, get into these players, and build their confidence.
“The struggles they’ve had this season will not be repeated again and you’ll see a resurgent Chelsea in the near future. Everyone at the club needs to work together to ensure this never happens again.”
Chelsea travel to Manchester United on Monday 28 December after their clash with Watford on Saturday.
