Thibaut Courtois reacts to Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Bournemouth
Thibaut Courtois tells Chelsea to maintain their focus ahead of an important week for the Blues
Thibaut Courtois has urged Chelsea to put the disappointment of Saturday’s defeat by Bournemouth behind them and regain their focus ahead of a crucial week for the Blues.
Jose Mourinho’s men slumped to a shock 1-0 loss to the newly-promoted side at Stamford Bridge as their stuttering start to the season continued in front of their home fans.
The west London side have struggled to find any sort of consistent form this season and have lost eight of their opening 15 Premier League games to leave their title defence in tatters.
Saturday’s surprise loss left Mourinho’s side languishing in 14th place in the Premier League table and just two points above the relegation zone.
However, Courtois, who returned to the starting line-up on Saturday following his lay-off with a knee injury, has called on the Blues to regain their composure ahead of their crunch Champions League clash with Porto on Wednesday night.
Courtois told Chelsea’s website: “Of course we are upset, but we have to regroup again and show strength against Porto in the Champions League and next Monday at Leicester.

‘It’s an important week for us. On Wednesday we have to win to make sure we are first and qualified. That will be a big boost for the team as well.
“Then Leicester away is a difficult game. We knew last year it was not easy there and now they have the confidence and are playing really well. It will be a very tough game but we are confident we can push on there.”
