Thierry Henry: What Arsenal need to do to beat Man City
Thierry Henry says he is intrigued to see how Arsenal will stop Manchester City
Thierry Henry says Arsenal will need to prevent Manchester City hitting the Gunners on the break at The Emirates on Monday night.
The north Londoners are in second place and a point ahead of title favourites City ahead of their top-of-the-table clash following a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal are unbeaten in their last three Premier League games, whilst Manuel Pellegrini’s Citizens side have lost twice in their past six top-flight outings.
And Henry, who won the Premier League twice and lifted three FA Cups during his Arsenal career, is hoping the Gunners can replicate their performance in a 3-0 win against Manchester United at Emirates Stadium in October.
“I want to see how Arsenal will deal with it, they blew United away at the Emirates so early in the game,” Henry is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“I thought against Sunderland they were a bit lucky because it could have been a draw. I want to see how Arsenal will stop City on the counter.”
Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil both scored in the opening seven minutes of Arsenal’s clash against United in October, before the Chile international extended the north London side’s lead in their 3-0 win.
The Gunners were unbeaten against the Citizens last season, beating Pellegrini’s men twice, whilst drawing 2-2 at The Emirates.
