Toby Alderweireld urges Tottenham Hotspur to beat Newcastle United

Toby Alderweireld urged Tottenham Hotspur to secure three points ahead of the visit of Newcastle United on Sunday evening.

The Spurs defender has been one of the north London side’s most-impressive players this season after the Belgium international moved to White Hart Lane from Atletico Madrid.

Alderweireld has formed an impressive centre-half partnership with his former Ajax team-mate and Belgium colleague Jan Vertonghen in the opening 15 Premier League games.

Mauricio Pochettino even called upon the 26-year-old for their Europa League clash against Monaco on Thursday night as he started alongside inexperienced Kevin Wimmer in the 4-1 win.

Alderweireld took to Instagram to issue a rallying cry ahead of Tottenham’s home game against Newcastle. He wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Matchday. Let’s do this! #Coys”

Alderweireld has scored two goals in 15 Premier League games this term.
