Van Gaal delivers latest Man United injury update ahead of Norwich clash
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal reveals Paddy McNair's injury was nothing more than cramp
Louis van Gaal has revealed that Paddy McNair suffered nothing more than cramp during Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat by Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Red Devils slumped to their second successive defeat in all competitions after Junior Stanislas and Joshua King managed to beat United shot stopper David De Gea at Vitality Stadium.
McNair was forced off in the second half of their close-fought defeat by the Cherries on Saturday evening, joining fellow defenders Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling, Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia on the sidelines.
And United manager Van Gaal confirmed that McNair’s injury setback isn’t serious ahead of Saturday’s visit of Norwich City at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
“McNair had cramp, he hasn’t played much this season – nothing serious,” Van Gaal told his post-match media conference.
The Red Devils are in fourth place in the Premier League table and six points behind surprise leaders Leicester City after 16 games so far this season.
