Andy Gray is tipping Liverpool to beat Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday and return to winning ways in the Premier League.

Both teams head into the game on Merseyside having played out thrilling 3-3 Premier League draws in midweek.

Liverpool came from behind to snatch a point against Arsenal thanks to Joe Allen’s late equaliser at Anfield, while Manchester United twice let the lead slip as they were forced to settle for a draw against Newcastle United on Tuesday night.

Both United and Liverpool have struggled to find consistent form in recent weeks.

Louis van Gaal’s side have only won three of their last 10 top-flight games, while Liverpool have only won four of their last 10 Premier League outings.

However, former Everton man Gray is tipping Liverpool to make home advantage count when they host the Red Devils on Sunday lunchtime.

Gray wrote in his column for Paddy Power: “Liverpool at home play with high intensity, we saw that on Wednesday. I think United will join the party, despite letting it slip against Newcastle. I think this will be a really exciting game.

“But I think Liverpool will win. At home, I think they’ll just have the better attack. Both defences are suspect. I’m calling a home win.”
