Anthony Martial sends message to Man United fans ahead of Liverpool clash

Anthony Martial is grateful for the support he has been shown since arriving at Manchester United

Anthony Martial has thanked Manchester United’s fans for their support as he and his team-mates prepare for their crunch Premier League showdown with Liverpool at Anfield.

The Red Devils head to Merseyside looking to beat their bitter local rivals and return to winning ways in the Premier League.

Louis van Gaal’s men were held to a thrilling 3-3 draw by Newcastle United in the Premier League in midweek.

Martial announced himself to the Old Trafford faithful by coming off the bench to score a stunning goal in United’s 3-1 win over Liverpool back in September after completing his big-money transfer to the club from Monaco in the summer.

And the France international is grateful for how Manchester United’s fans have been quick to welcome him to the club.

Martial told MUTV: “The fact that the manager has shown faith in me has also helped me and it’s thanks to him and my team-mates for what I’ve achieved so far.

“The fans have shown a lot of confidence in me since I arrived and I received lots of welcome messages and kind wishes from them. It was really quite touching to get these and I hope I can repay them over the years that I’m here at United.”
