Arsenal star signs new long-term contract with the Gunners

Nacho Monreal commits his long-term future to Arsenal by penning a new deal with the club

Nacho Monreal has committed his future to Arsenal by signing a new long-term contract with the club, the Gunners announced on Tuesday.

The Spanish full-back has been a regular fixture in the north London side’s first team this season and has been one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers.

Monreal has featured in all 22 of Arsenal’s Premier League games so far this season, helping the team keep 10 clean sheets along the way.

The length of his new contract has not been disclosed by the north London club.

Monreal has been ever-present at left-back for Arsene Wenger’s men since joining the club from La Liga side Malaga in January 2013.

The 29-year-old Spaniard has made more than 80 Premier League appearances for the Gunners, including a number at centre-back last season.

An Arsenal statement read: “Everyone at Arsenal looks forward to Nacho’s continued contribution to the club in the seasons to come.”
