Arsenal to make £4m bid to sign teenager this month – report

Arsenal are reportedly ready to step up their pursuit of defender Ben Chilwell before the transfer deadline

Arsenal are ready to table a new and improved £4m bid to sign Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell this month, according to reports.

The north London side have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks but have thus far only signed midfielder Mohamed Elneny from FC Basel.

Arsene Wenger, who watched his Arsenal side slump to a disappointing 1-0 loss to Chelsea on Sunday, is believed to be on the lookout for further reinforcements before the January transfer window closes on Monday evening.

Arsenal have been linked with a bid for Chilwell in recent days, and now The Sun reports that the Gunners are lining up a £4m offer after having had a £3m bid rejected by the Foxes already this month.

Chilwell is said to earn around £800 a week on his current contract, which has 18 months left to run at the King Power Stadium.
