Bastian Schweinsteiger issues late rallying cry ahead of Liverpool v Man United
Bastian Schweinsteiger urges his Manchester United team-mates to victory over Liverpool on Sunday
Bastian Schweinsteiger has issued a late rallying cry ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Liverpool.
The Germany international isn’t named in Louis van Gaal’s match-day squad for their north-west derby encounter at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Schweisnteiger did feature in United’s impressive 3-1 victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford earlier in the season following his summer move to the Red Devils.
And the 31-year-old took to Twitter to post some words of encouragement to his United team-mates less than an hour before kick-off on Merseyside.
Fingers are crossed for today’s classic, @ManUtd. Come on, Red Devils! #mufc

The World Cup winner missed the draw with Newcastle after suffering a knee injury during the win over Sheffield United.
Schweinsteiger was thought to be unlikely to line up for the Red Devils against their bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield.
