Bastian Schweinsteiger has taken to social media to thank his fans for their support after he surpassed three million followers on Twitter.

The Germany international is regularly active on social media and used his personal Instagram account to post a picture of himself paying tribute to his followers.

Schweinsteiger shared the picture above and wrote: “Wow, three Million followers on Twitter. This is amazing, thanks for your support!”

The 31-year-old midfielder has been a regular fixture in the United first-team since arriving at Old Trafford from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

The World Cup winner has scored one goal in 17 league games for Louis van Gaal’s side and missed out due to injury as United recorded a vital 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
