Cesc Fabregas discusses his recent form for Chelsea after win at Arsenal
Cesc Fabregas says that he is approaching his best form for Chelsea after a stuttering season
Cesc Fabregas admitted that he has been struggling to find consistent form for Chelsea this season but hopes he is now on his way to being back to his best.
The Spaniard produced a man of the match display as Chelsea secured a 1-0 victory against 10-man Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Diego Costa scored the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute after Per Mertesacker was sent off for bringing the striker down five minutes earlier.
Fabregas, 28, has come in for plenty of criticism this season along with many of his Chelsea colleagues after their stuttering form this term.
And although the Spaniard admits that he has not been at his best for parts of the campaign, he feels like he is approaching his top form once again.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Sunday’s win at Arsenal, Fabregas said: “I’m nearly there, I think I’m feeling very sharp I think my brain is much quicker than maybe the last few months.
“I struggled for a little but I don’t know really why but the sharpness is back. I feel that under pressure I’m much more in control I’m not shaky.
“My team-mates made it always easier for me, but definitely in the last year probably I’m in the best form right now.”
Chelsea’s next Premier League game is a trip to Watford on Wednesday 3 February.
