Charlie Nicholas predicts outcome of Crystal Palace v Chelsea

Charlie Nicholas reckons Chelsea will secure 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace

Charlie Nicholas is tipping Chelsea to secure a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Sunday night.

The Blues extended their unbeaten run to three Premier League games last weekend after a goalless draw with Manchester United on Monday night.

Chelsea are slowly looking a bit better

Guus Hiddink was appointed as Jose Mourinho’s successor earlier this month after the Portuguese coach oversaw his ninth Premier League defeat of the season.

And Nicholas reckons Chelsea will have too much for Alan Pardew’s side despite Palace’s impressive first half of the Premier League this term.

“What a season Palace are having but can they cope without the likes of Yannick Bolasie and Connor Wickham? Bolasie’s loss is a gigantic blow,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.

“He’s got so much ability and teases and torments defences, he’s a big miss and I’m worried that without him they don’t score a lot of goals.

“Chelsea are slowly looking a bit better. Diego Costa is back and Eden Hazard showed some nice touches against Manchester United. I’m still not convinced by Chelsea but I’m going to back them to edge it on Sunday.”

Hiddink started his reign with a victory after 3-1 victory over Sunderland earlier this month.

However, the Blues had to come from behind to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw with Watford at Stamford Bridge.
