Charlie Nicholas predicts where Arsenal will finish this season

Charlie Nicholas is tipping Arsenal to win the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City this season.

Arsenal head into this weekend’s round of fixtures top of the table on goal difference from second-placed Leicester City, with Manchester City just one point behind.

The Gunners have been held to successive away draws in recent weeks, with the 3-3 thriller at Liverpool being followed up by a goalless stalemate at Stoke last weekend.

However, former Arsenal man Nicholas was full of praise for summer signing Petr Cech – and he feels that the north London club have what it takes to go all the way this season.

Nicholas told Sky Sports: “Unsurprisingly I’m sticking with my pre-season prediction [Arsenal to win the league].

“Petr Cech is the key signing and earned another result at Stoke.

“When it comes to big matches he will win the points with his courage, bottle and know-how. He has already paid back his transfer fee and will be the difference come the end of the season.”

Arsenal are looking to win their first Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 season.

The Gunners host defending champions Chelsea at The Emirates in their next game on Sunday afternoon. City, meanwhile, travel to West Ham on Saturday.
