Daley Blind talks up Man United signing’s potential

Daley Blind has been impressed by Anthony Martial since his arrival at Manchester United in the summer

Daley Blind believes that Anthony Martial has all the necessary qualities needed to develop into a top player for Manchester United.

The French striker’s rise to prominence at Old Trafford has been one of the few positives for Louis van Gaal’s side this season following a string of disappointing performances and results.

He has everything needed to become a great striker

Martial announced himself to the Old Trafford faithful following his big-money summer transfer from Monaco by scoring United’s third goal in the 3-1 win over Liverpool back in September.

Blind has been thoroughly impressed by what he has seen from the 20-year-old since he arrived at the club and says that there is plenty more to come from the France international.

Blind told United’s website: “He is a big talent, he is still young and we cannot forget that.

“But you can see on the training pitch and even in the matches already how much quality he has. If he is working that hard like he is now, improving and improving each week, then he can become a really great striker.

“He is very quick of course, he is strong and I think he is really calm in front of the goal. He has everything needed to become a great striker.

“Now he is evolving and performing in the training sessions, working hard on and off the pitch with his languages and personality, he is coming along really well. He is a bit quiet, he is still young, but he is always in for a joke and he’s a good lad.”

United, who finished fourth last season, slumped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat by Southampton at Old Trafford on Saturday to leave them five points adrift of the top four heading into the final 15 games of the season.
