Dietmar Hamann says Christian Eriksen’s poor form is Tottenham Hotspur’s biggest problem.

The Denmark international has failed to hit his prolific heights of previous seasons after scoring 13 goals in 63 Premier League games in his first two campaigns in the English top-flight.

The 23-year-old midfielder has failed to score a Premier League goal since the north London side’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City at Liberty Stadium on 4 October.

Former Liverpool and Newcastle United midfielder Hamann believes Tottenham desperately need Eriksen to rekindle his sparkling performances for the Lilywhites in the race for a top-four finish.

“The worry for Tottenham Hotspur at the moment is the lack form of Christian Eriksen,” Hamann told BBC Sport.

“He got his last league goal on 4 October. Hopefully Eriksen can come back to form.”

Eriksen has scored two goals and has made six assists in 18 Premier League games so far this season for the north London outfit.

The former Ajax midfielder scored in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Leicester in the FA Cup third round at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
