Ex-Chelsea striker: Tottenham most-organised side in Premier League
Tony Cascarino explains why Tottenham Hotspur will finish above of Everton this season
Tony Cascarino has described Tottenham Hotspur as the Premier League’s most-organised side.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side drew 1-1 with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon to extend their four-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
The north London side have the best defensive record in the Premier League after their new-look centre-half partnership of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen have helped Spurs concede just 16 goals in 20 top-flight games.
And former Chelsea striker Cascarino is backing Spurs to finish above Roberto Martinez’s Everton side in the race for a Champions League place this season.
“Spurs were the better team,” Cascarino told Sky Sports.
“They were so organised, the most organised team in the Premier League. The way Dele Alli took his goal was brilliant, while Harry Kane was unlucky not to score. Tottenham will finish above Everton without a doubt.”
England international Aaron Lennon broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute with a brilliant volley which beat his old team-mate Hugo Lloris after he moved to Everton in January 2015.
However, promising Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli levelled on the stroke of half-time after Toby Alderweireld’s brilliant diagnol pass on Merseyside.
Tottenham are in fourth place and six points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.
