Expert disappoints Arsenal and Liverpool fans with Pierre-Emerick Aubayameng update

Jan Aage Fjortoft explains Pierre-Emerick Aubayameng missed a second day of Dortmund training amid Arsenal link

Jan Aage Fjortoft left Arsenal and Liverpool fans disappointed after the Bundesliga expert insisted there was nothing suspicious about Pierre-Emerick Aubayameng’s absence from Borussia Dortmund training on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old is fast becoming one of Europe’s most-wanted strikers in the January transfer window amid reported interest from Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool.

The African striker has been in stunning form for Dortmund so far this season after netting an incredible 24 goals in just 23 appearances in all competitions.

Naturally, Aubameyang’s absence from first-team training prompted intense speculation on Twitter after the transfer window opened last week.

The Bundesliga club attempted to clear up any confusion over the striker’s leave of absence on Monday afternoon.

However, when the British media reported that the Gabon international missed training for a second day running, talk of a January transfer was rife on social media.

But Bundesliga expert Fjortoft revealed that Aubameyang is en route to Africa to collect an award for his fine form.

And the striker confirmed that he was on his way to African Ballon d’Or ceremony on his Instagram page.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp worked with Aubameyang at Dortmund before he called time on his reign at the club last summer.
