Hiddink gives latest Chelsea injury update ahead of West Brom clash
Guus Hiddink delivers an injury update on Chelsea duo Nemanja Matic and Oscar ahead of West Brom clash
Guus Hiddink says Oscar is suffering from a small toe injury after the Brazilian was replaced at half-time in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Scunthorpe in the FA Cup third round.
The 25-year-old was forced off due to a small inflammation in his toe and Oscar’s replacement Ruben Loftus-Cheek went on to score Chelsea’s second of the afternoon at Stamford Bridge.

Serbia midfielder Nemanja Matic didn’t start the third-round tie after a bizarre training ground injury at Cobham ahead of the visit of Scunthorpe.
Speaking at his post-match press conference on Sunday evening ahead of their next Premier League game against West Brom on Wednesday night, Hiddink said:
“Matic was injured in training yesterday,” Hiddink said.
“A goalie threw the ball at the back of his head from five or six yards away by accident. Saturday, he was a little bit dizzy and this morning too but I was glad to see this afternoon he was better.”
Hiddink continued: “Oscar had a little problem with his toe. He had a small inflammation which was very painful. Nevertheless we would have taken off two or three players to bring youngsters on in the second half.”
Chelsea are in 14th place in the Premier League table and 19 points behind leaders Arsenal but a mere six points above 18th-placed Newcastle United.
