Jack Butland says Stoke City are still in a good position to reach the League Cup final at Wembley
Jack Butland has warned Liverpool that Stoke City are still in a good position to reach the League Cup final despite a 1-0 defeat at The Britannia on Tuesday night.
Jurgen Klopp’s edged into a first-leg lead thanks to Jordon Ibe’s strike which beat England international Butland in the 37th minute after the forward replaced injured Philippe Coutinho.
Liverpool host Mark Hughes’s impressive Stoke side in the return leg of the semi-final clash at Anfield on Tuesday 26 January with a place at Wembley up for grabs.
And Butland, who has been in stunning form for the Potters so far this season, isn’t giving up hope of reaching a first League Cup final at the home of English football.

Liverpool were also 1-0 winners against Stoke in the first game of the season at The Britannia on the opening day of the Premier League weekend.
