Jamie Carragher makes bold prediction about Tottenham’s season

Jamie Carragher explains why Tottenham Hotspur should be thinking about title challenge

Jamie Carragher says Tottenham Hotspur should shift their focus to challenging for the Premier League title this season.

The north London side cemented fourth place in the table after Saturday’s impressive 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Tottenham are two points behind Arsene Wenger’s men after 10-man Arsenal suffered a 1-0 defeat by bitter rivals Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking on Sky Sports following Sunday’s London derby, Carragher explained why Tottenham and Leicester City should be thinking about the title and not consolidating their place in the top four.

“You’re talking about the top four, everyone in the top-four places now, they won’t be thinking about top four, they’ll be thinking about the title,” Carragher said.

“The result [Chelsea beating Arsenal] means Tottenham and Leicester have to be thinking about the title.”

Jan Vertonghen’s own goal handed Palace a first-half lead at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Saturday.

However, Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Nacer Chadli all scored second-half goals to seal three points for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
