Jamie Carragher reacts on Twitter to apparent Man United tactical change
Jamie Carragher was watching Manchester United's win over Swansea City closely
Jamie Carragher has taken to social media to discuss Manchester United’s formation during their 2-1 win over Swansea City at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils secured a winning start to 2016 thanks to goals from Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney as they ended their run of eight games in all competitions without a victory.
With a number of first-team regulars out injured, including the likes of centre-half Marcos Rojo, it seemed that manager Louis van Gaal had opted to switch to a formation featuring a back three of Chris Smalling, Daley Blind and Phil Jones.
And Liverpool legend pointed the change out on Twitter, before responding to one fan who disagreed with his view.
Former England international Carragher tweeted:
Just watching Man United v Swansea on Sky Sports 2, looks like the 3 at the back has made a comeback!

@BarryLove17 it's definitely a 3 just wish we had MNF to show you!
