Ibe was a replacement for Philippe Coutinho and Dejan Lovren was replaced by James Milner after the Liverpool pair appeared to suffer a hamstring injuries in the first half.

Toure partnered Lucas Leiva at the centre of the away side’s defence for the remainder of the game in the absence of injured Lovren.

Former Liverpool centre-half Carragher singled out the Ivory international for special praise following the Reds’s battling performance.
