Jamie Carragher reacts to Liverpool’s 2-0 loss to West Ham

Jamie Carragher runs the rule over Liverpool's 2-0 defeat by West Ham United at Upton Park on Saturday evening

Jamie Carragher says Jurgen Klopp’s post-match interview was the only positive from Liverpool’s 2-0 loss to West Ham United.

The Hammers eased into a first-half lead courtesy of Michail Antonio’s header after the Reds made a sluggish start to Saturday’s early kick-off at Upton Park.

Liverpool’s club-record signing Andy Carroll came back to haunt the Merseyside outfit after the towering striker netted a second for the hosts in the 55th minute.

Summer signing Christian Benteke missed a flurry of decent opportunities for Jurgen Klopp’s side but the Belgium international couldn’t prevent a 2-0 loss at West Ham.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager was critical of his players in his post-match interview after their first defeat in three games, adding that Liverpool didn’t deserve anything from the game.

And retired Liverpool defender Carragher was impressed with Klopp’s no-nonsense approach following the Reds’s third defeat in four games on the road in the Premier League.

Liverpool host Arsenal in their next Premier League game on 13 January.
