Liverpool legend John Barnes makes prediction about Arsenal’s season

John Barnes feels this is Arsenal's best chance to win the league in many seasons

John Barnes says this season represents Arsenal’s best chance of winning the Premier League title in more than six years.

The north London side head into Wednesday night’s crunch clash with Liverpool at Anfield two points clear top of the Premier League table after an impressive start to the campaign.

Arsene Wenger is bidding to guide Arsenal to their first Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph back in the 2003-04 season.

Many are expecting this season’s title race to come down to a straight shootout between Arsenal and Manchester City in the second half of the campaign.

And although Liverpool legend Barnes feels that Manuel Pellegrini’s men are the slight favourites to win the top-flight title this term, he believes that Arsenal are more than capable of ending their long wait for the trophy.

Barnes wrote in his blog for Titanbet: “This, for me, is the club’s best chance in six, maybe even more, years to win the title their fans and players crave.

“The race is between them and Manchester City, and although I personally think Manuel Pellegrini’s side will come out on top, the London club have a terrific chance.

“All it will take for them is City to falter, and that’s very much possible over a long season.”
