John Barnes states his prediction for Liverpool v Arsenal

John Barnes is tipping Wedensday's clash between Arsenal and Liverpool to end all square...

John Barnes is expecting to see Liverpool hold Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at Anfield in Wednesday night’s Premier League clash.

Arsene Wenger’s league leaders head to Merseyside looking to build on their recent victories over Newcastle United and Sunderland.

Liverpool have endured a stuttering start to the new year and were held to a 2-2 draw by Exeter in the FA Cup after their disappointing 2-0 loss to West Ham United at the start of the month.

The Reds have struggled to find consistent form since Jurgen Klopp’s appointment as Brendan Rodgers’ successor at Anfield back in October.

Liverpool have notched up impressive away wins against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City but have also lost to the likes of Watford in recent weeks.

Despite Arsenal’s title charge, Barnes is backing Liverpool to hold the north London side to a draw on Merseyside on Wednesday night.

Barnes wrote on his blog for Titanbet: “With their injury situation I think Liverpool will be happy with a draw.

“Had the game been set to be played at the Emirates I think Arsenal would be certain favourites, but the Anfield crowd will be up for it and will make a difference. Goal-scorers – Christian Benteke and Mesut Ozil.”
