John Barnes states his prediction for Newcastle v Man United

John Barnes is predicting a 1-1 draw between Manchester United and Newcastle United on Tuesday night

John Barnes is tipping Newcastle United to frustrate Manchester United and hold the Red Devils to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

Louis van Gaal’s men head to St James’ Park looking to build on their recent back-to-back wins despite a series on unconvincing performances.

United edged to a nervy 1-0 win over Sheffield United in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday after kicking off 2016 with a 2-1 victory over Swansea City.

Their win over the Swans was their first victory in eight attempts in all competitions, a run which put Van Gaal’s position as manager under serious scrutiny.

And former Liverpool man Barnes is not expecting United to claim the three points against Steve McLaren’s men at St James’ Park on Tuesday.

Barnes wrote on his blog for Titanbet: “This will be a difficult one for Manchester United up at Newcastle.

“They didn’t player particularly well against Sheffield United in the FA Cup, albeit they got the result, and St James’ Park is a tough place to go for any away side.

“Of course, Newcastle are struggling and are low on confidence, but I can see a draw. Goal-scorers – Moussa Sissoko and Wayne Rooney.”
