Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan takes to Twitter upon his return from a long spell on the sidelines
Jon Flanagan has thanked Liverpool fans for their reception after he made his return from injury in Wednesday’s 3-0 win against Exeter City.
The 23-year-old full-back ended a 619-day stretch on the sidelines in Liverpool’s FA Cup third-round replay at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Flanagan replaced Connor Randall in the 51st-minute to help Jurgen Klopp’s side ease to victory and set up a fourth-round clash against West Ham United at Anfield.
The Liverpool defender stated that he won’t forget his reception on Wednesday night after making his much-anticipated comeback from a knee injury.

Joe Allen broke the deadlock against Exeter in the first half to calm Liverpool nerves in the FA Cup third-round replay.
Sheyi Ojo scored his first Reds goal on his Anfield debut with 16 minutes remaining to put the replay’s outcome out of doubt.
