Klopp delivers latest Liverpool injury update ahead of Arsenal clash

Jurgen Klopp gives an update on the centre-half crisis at Liverpool ahead of the visit of Arsenal on Wednesday night

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool only have three centre-halves fit for the visit of Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Liverpool relied upon untested Tiago Ilori and out-of-favour Jose Enrique for their 2-2 draw with Exeter City in the FA Cup third round on Friday night.

Lucas Leiva was forced to revert to centre-half against Stoke City in the League Cup last week due to Dejan Lovren’s hamstring injury, whilst Mamadou Sakho missed the semi-final first-leg clash due to a knee problem.

However, Klopp declared Lucas and Kolo Toure fit for the game against the Gunners at Anfield, adding that Sakho is desperate to feature against the north London side.

On Lovren, Klopp added that Liverpool may be forced to risk the Croatia international ahead of their game against bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

Liverpool are in eighth place in the Premier League and 12 points behind leaders Arsenal.
The Reds suffered a 2-0 defeat at West Ham United in their last Premier League game.
