Klopp delivers latest Liverpool injury update ahead of Man United clash
Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge won't feature against Manchester United
Jurgen Klopp says Daniel Sturridge will miss Liverpool’s game against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.
The Liverpool striker is still contending with an injury problem which has kept the England international sidelined since early December.
However, Klopp confirmed that Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and France centre-half Mamadou Sakho are available for the visit of their bitter rivals.
“[Jordan]Henderson is okay, [Jordon] Ibe is okay, [Mamadou] Sakho is okay,” Klopp told his pre-match media conference.
Liverpool’s player of the month for December, Dejan Lovren, is unlikely to feature against the Red Devils as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.
Asked if Lovren would feature against United, Klopp replied: “No.”
Martin Skrtel and Philippe Coutinho are currently sidelined with hamstring problems, whilst Joe Gomez and Danny Ings suffered long-term knee injuries earlier this season.
