Lazio give transfer update on reported Man United target Felipe Anderson
Lazio insist Man United haven't made an offer for Felipe Anderson in January transfer window
Lazio insist Manchester United haven’t made an offer for midfielder Felipe Anderson.
The Red Devils have been linked with a £42m offer for the promising Brazil international in recent weeks as Louis van Gaal attempts to bolster his attacking options.
The 22-year-old South American has been in impressive form for the Italian club so far this season, scoring five goals and making one assist in 19 appearances in Serie A.
However, Lazio sporting director Igli Tare is adamant that there has been no concrete offer from the 20-time English champions in the January transfer window after United made a big-money offer in August.
“We turned down a €50m offer from Manchester United on August 27 and nothing has changed since then, because if he finds consistency, then he’s worth much more,” Tare is quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
“We also resisted bigger offers than that, but we have targets to achieve.”
United have only scored 24 times in 20 Premier League games this season ahead of their trip to Newcastle United at St James’s Park on Tuesday night.
