Liverpool agree £11.28m deal to sign striker – report

Liverpool appear to be on the brink of signing Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato from Corinthians

Liverpool have agreed an £11.28m deal to sign Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato from Corinthians, according to reports.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a bid to sign the former AC Milan forward in recent weeks as Jurgen Klopp considers bolstering his attacking options during the January transfer window.

Brazil striker Pato, who has been previously linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, returned to Brazil in 2013 after a five-year spell at Serie A giants AC Milan.

Now, it appears that the Merseyside outfit are closing in on a deal to bring Pato to Anfield this month, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

Pedulla reports that Pato has turned down lucrative offers to move to China in favour of a transfer to Liverpool.

Pato scored 63 times in 150 appearances in all competitions from Milan during a six-season stay at San Siro.

The Brazilian was part of the Milan side that won Serie A and Supercoppa Italiana in 2011.
