Liverpool could sign Denis Cheryshev on Monday – report

Denis Cheryshev could reportedly seal a January transfer to Liverpool before Monday's deadline

Denis Cheryshev could be set for a late January transfer to Liverpool before Monday’s deadline, according to reports in Spain.

Cheryshev has struggled to gain regular playing time at Real Madrid and has only made six appearances for the Spanish side so far this season.

And Spanish newspaper AS is now reporting that Liverpool could complete a deal to sign Cheryshev on transfer deadline day.

The 25-year-old Russian winger has only played 117 minutes for Real Madrid so far this season and has inevitably been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu due to his lack of playing time.

Cheryshev is keen to play more regular first-team football in the lead-up to this summer’s European championships in France.

The Daily Mirror reports that Alex Teixeira remains as Liverpool’s main transfer target this month – but their hopes of signing the Brazilian look set to be thwarted by Shakhtar Donetsk’s asking price of £53m.
