Liverpool legend vows on Twitter to make Anfield return against Man United
John Arne Riise jokes that he is ready for action for Liverpool should Jurgen Klopp need him in the coming days
John Arne Riise has taken to Twitter to jokingly declare himself ready to make a return to action for Liverpool ahead of their Premier League showdown with Manchester United at Anfield on 17 January.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are gearing up for a busy January as they look to string together a positive run of results under the German coach.
Liverpool have struggled to produce consistent performances this season and slumped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat by West Ham United in their first game of 2016 at Upton Park on Sunday.
The Reds are now gearing up for their League Cup semi-final first leg against Stoke City on Tuesday night, before turning their attentions to a trip to Exeter in the FA Cup third round.
Liverpool then face testing Premier League encounters against Arsenal and Manchester United at Anfield.
However, former Liverpool left-back Riise has declared himself ready to return to action for the Reds when one fan pleaded with him to come back to Anfield.
Riise tweeted:
@JARiiseOfficial any chance you could come back in a few weeks against united and bang in one of those famous free kicks??
