Liverpool suffer Alex Teixeira blow – report
Liverpool target Alex Teixeira has reportedly pulled his hamstring in training, according to Russian journalist
Liverpool have suffered a blow in their bid to sign Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira, according to a Russian journalist.
According to reports in the British media, Liverpool have made a £24.6m offer for the 26-year-old forward and chief executive has flown to Florida to try to conclude a deal with Shakhtar.
Teixeira has scored 67 goals in 146 games for the Ukrainian side over the past five years and has previously been linked with defending Premier League champions Chelsea.
But Russian journalist Artur Petrosyan has claimed that Teixeira has pulled his hamstring during a training session in USA just hours before Ayre boarded a flight stateside.

It happened during his last training with Shakhtar in USA a few hours before Ian Ayre got on the plane.

The Reds have already lost Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren, Divock Origi and Philippe Coutinho to hamstring injuries in recent weeks.
Teixera has scored 22 goals in 15 Premier League appearances in the Ukrainian league, whilst the Shakhtar man has netted three times in six Champions League games.
