Liverpool urged to sign Real Madrid starlet in January transfer window
Danny Murphy feels Jese Rodriguez would be a perfect January signing for Liverpool
Danny Murphy has urged Liverpool to consider a January transfer bid to sign Jese Rodriguez from Real Madrid to add some much-needed pace to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Liverpool have struggled to produce consistent performances since Klopp’s appointment at the Merseyside club, despite impressive wins against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City in recent months.
The Reds have inevitably been linked with a host of players in recent days now that the January transfer window is open.
And former Liverpool man Murphy feels that Jese could be a brilliant signing for the Reds.
Murphy told talkSPORT: “Pace is a commodity feared by defenders and yearned for by supporters for its ability to get people out of their seats.
“At the moment, Liverpool’s attack looks blunted while Daniel Sturridge’s injury problems continue to frustrate. Christian Benteke is undeniably gifted but, as illustrated by a turgid display at West Ham, his immobility doesn’t seem to fit in with Liverpool’s mantra.
“Jese Rodriguez at Real Madrid has grown tired of a lack of game time in the Spanish capital. Jese is young, quick and well worth a gamble in January given his current discontent.”
