Man United signing discusses Red Devils transfer
Summer signing Matteo Darmian says that he has adapted well to life at Manchester United
Matteo Darmian has described his summer transfer to Manchester United as a “very important step” in his career.
The Italy international has been a regular fixture in Louis van Gaal’s first team since swapping Torino for United back in July.
Darmian has made 17 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils to help the club up to fifth place in the Premier League table and two points behind Tottenham in fourth.
The 26-year-old also featured four times in the Champions League before their elimination at the group stage back in December.
And the 26-year-old full-back says that he now feels completely settled in Manchester as he bids to help the Red Devils enjoy a positive second half of the season.
Speaking to United’s website this week, defender Darmian said: “A very important new step in my career has started.
“I tried to enter straight away into the English mentality and into the group here, and I must thank everyone… all my team-mates who immediately made me feel at home and make it easier for me.
“I think it has been a positive six months.
“When a person moves, like from Italy to England, for any type of move or transfer of this type, it is never easy but I have to say again it has been a positive six months.”
Manchester United, who beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield last weekend, are preparing to host Southampton at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
