Man United to bid for Bayern Munich’s attacker – report

Manchester United are weighing up an ambitious transfer bid to sign Thomas Muller, according to reports

Manchester United are back in the hunt to sign Thomas Muller from Bayern Munich, according to reports.

Louis van Gaal is thought to be on the lookout to bolster his attacking options at Old Trafford after watching his side slump to a disappointing 1-0 loss to Southampton on Saturday.

That result left United five points behind Tottenham in fourth place and served to increase the pressure on Van Gaal, whose side have already lost six league games this season.

United have been linked with a move for World Cup winner Muller in the past, and the Red Devils are now said to be ready to offer the Germany international a €400,000 a week salary, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The 26-year-old forward has been in prolific form this season and has scored 14 goals in 18 Bundesliga appearances. He has also notched up four assists for his team-mates.

Muller also netted five times in the Champions League group stage to help the German outfit reach the last 16 as group winners.
