Man United urged to sign Everton defender John Stones
Alan Tonge is urging Man United to sign John Stones as a long-term replacement for Rio Ferdinand
Manchester United should attempt to sign Everton defender John Stones as a long-term replacement for Rio Ferdinand, according to Alan Tonge.
The England international impressed in Everton’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Stones was the subject of a bid from defending Premier League champions Chelsea in the summer transfer window, but the Toffees rejected the Blues’s advances.
However, former United star Tonge believes Stones would be the perfect replacement for Ferdinand after the Red Devils legend quit Old Trafford in 2013 before he retired last year.
Highly unlikely, but Stones would be a fantastic addition for Utd. Very classy player. Can defend and play. Reminds me a lot of Rio.

God knows what the fee would be!
