Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Crystal Palace v Tottenham
Mark Lawrenson is backing Tottenham to beat Crystal Palace on Saturday...
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Tottenham to snatch a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace in Saturday’s Premier League clash.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men head into the game after having booked their place in the FA Cup fourth round thanks to an impressive 2-0 win at Leicester in midweek.
Spurs are currently fourth in the table and just five points behind leaders Arsenal heading into this weekend’s round of top flight fixtures.
And former Liverpool man Lawrenson is backing Spurs to secure a narrow win at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.
Lawrenson told BBC Sport: “Tottenham have the odd blip but they always bounce back, which is the sign of a good side.
“Spurs won three in a row after losing at home to Newcastle before Christmas, and they took Sunderland apart last week after being beaten by Leicester.
“I am going for another Spurs win here too. I was at the Etihad last week to see Crystal Palace beaten 4-0 by Manchester City, and they did not carry much of a goal threat.
“The Eagles have not scored in any of their past five league games, so it was clearly not just a one-off.”
Pochettino has been tasked with steering Liverpool back into the top four after the north London side finished fifth last season.
