Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Tottenham v Leicester City
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Tottenham Hotspur to secure a 2-0 win over Leicester City on Wednesday
Mark Lawrenson is fully expecting to see Tottenham Hotspur underline Premier League title credentials with a 2-0 win over Leicester City at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.
Spurs have been one of the Premier League’s most consistent teams this season, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men having only lost twice in the top flight this term to leave many tipping them as one of the outsiders for the title.
The north London side are currently fourth in the Premier League table and six points behind leaders and local rivals Arsenal heading into the midweek round of games.
Leicester have been one of the surprise packages of the season and are currently second in the table and two points behind the leaders after a stunning start to the campaign.
The two sides played out a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
However, former Liverpool man Lawrenson is backing Spurs to step it up and beat the Foxes in north London on Wednesday night.
Lawrenson told BBC Sport: “Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri will have taken more away from his side’s FA Cup draw with Tottenham on Sunday than Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.
“The Foxes were missing quite a few regular starters but they carried a real threat and were quite unlucky not to win the game.

“I just think this game will be completely different, though, especially because I cannot see striker Jamie Vardy returning from injury yet.
“Tottenham will be much improved with their strongest line-up, and should take the points.”
