Mark Lawrenson predicts the outcome of Tottenham v Leicester
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Tottenham to seal a 2-0 win over Leicester City in the FA Cup on Sunday
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Tottenham Hotspur to secure a 2-0 victory over Leicester City at White Hart Lane on Sunday and book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Spurs have been one of the Premier League’s most consistent teams this season, with the Lilywhites having only lost two games in the top flight so far this term.
The north London side kicked off 2016 with a 1-1 draw at Everton to leave them in fourth place in the Premier League table and six points behind leaders Arsenal.
Leicester, meanwhile, have been one of the Premier League’s surprise packages this season and are currently flying high in second place in the table, just two points behind the Gunners.
However, former Liverpool man Lawrenson is tipping Tottenham to secure a straightforward victory over Claudio Ranieri’s men in front of their home fans in north London on Sunday.
Lawrenson told BBC Sport: “Of the other all-Premier League ties, Tottenham against Leicester is the most interesting.
“The longer the season goes on, the more impressive Spurs look. They have a very good chance of making the top four, but I don’t think they can win the title.
“Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino strikes me as a guy who will put all of his eggs in one basket and concentrate on the Premier League, and Claudio Ranieri is likely to do the same with Leicester.
“Spurs have got a squad that allows Pochettino to make changes, as they have shown in the Europa League, and that could be the difference on Sunday because I am not sure the Foxes have the same.”
