Martial, Rooney and more: Man United stars react on Twitter to Swansea win

Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney take to social media after Manchester United edge to a 2-1 victory over Swansea City

Wayne Rooney became the Premier League’s second-highest goal-scorer of all-time behind Alan Shearer after the Manchester United captain scored in a 2-1 win against Swansea City on Saturday.

Iceland international Gylfi Sigurdsson cancelled out Anthony Martial’s 47th-minute header at Old Trafford before 30-year-old Rooney netted a sumptuous winner to secure three points for the hosts.

United’s triumph over Swansea was their first Premier League victory since a 2-1 win at Watford on 21 November after defeats by Bournemouth, Norwich City and Stoke City and stalemates with Chelsea, Leicester City and West Ham.

England and Red Devils skipper Rooney is thrilled with a positive start to 2016:

Netherlands defender Daley Blind and Itlay right-back Matteo Darmian echo the sentiments of their captain:

United goalkeeper David De Gea underlines his appreciation for the Red Devils supporters:

United’s second most-expensive signing Juan Mata shows his appreciations for the home side’s goals scored by Martial and Rooney:

Finally, summer signing Martial celebrates a vital win for Van Gaal’s men on his Instagram page:

Great win 💪🏽
